During the meeting, the presidents focused on the further expansion of cooperation in the energy sphere.
In this regard, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev invited Ukraine to join the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) project.
The sides also expressed consent to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the Turkey-Azerbaijan-Ukraine trilateral format. In addition, they discussed the preparations for the 6th meeting of the Council of Azerbaijani and Ukrainian Presidents to be held within the framework of the visit.
The presidents noted that in the context of preparations for the meeting of the Ukraine-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission on economic issues to take place in Kiev, the figures for last year's trade turnover have improved markedly.
The heads of state expressed their unchanging mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each other’s countries.
